The ANATOLE project aims to create the necessary tools for Atlantic local authorities to be able to create, improve and strengthen the systems of economy of proximity, participating directly from the local government.
To this end, the project has published a Good Practice Guide which serves as a reference to the cities of the Atlantic when implementing an efficient system. Also, through its blog, the project presents different perspectives which may be taken into account, as the concepts, tools, ongoing experiences or relevant European policies. |

Last September 30th, Vigo City Council held a major conference on the diverse issues of the Sustainable development on the Atlantic Area, the Ist Atlantic Sustainable Forum. The session was opened by M. Abel Caballero, Vigo Mayor, who described the protection of the environment as a protection of the future.
ANATOLE project was represented by CAAC and ADTERRA. Ms. Rosa Leis (ADTERRA) and Tamara Guirao (CAAC) introduced the context of the Atlantic Arc Cities so as to present the Economy of Proximity managed by local authorities and the experiences of ANATOLE project as an appropriate scheme to ensure a more respectful market system concerning food security. |

The feedback workshop of the ANATOLE project work took place in Nantes on 26 and 27 August last. The discussions led to the definition of the need for local economic systems face to the disconnection of society towards its own economy and the consequent loss of identity. It is also a response to the future of urban food by developing own products that would be thus "in-anonymized." These objectives are at the heart of Atlantic territories’ strategies that promote sustainable and cohesive development. Political representatives must support a process that is intended to be transnational, urban and enriched by the exchange of experiences.
